Job Description :

Reporting to the VP of Information Technology, the Development Manager prioritizes, oversees and supervises all DevOps software developers, their work, and application performance for our Software as a Service product.  This position requires excellent coaching, leadership, motivation, decision-making, and communication skills, and the strong ability to collaborate productively across the other departments, including Quality Assurance, Business Analysis, Sales, Marketing, Support, and Infrastructure.  This role also requires active participation in developing and executing a clear development strategy, including implementing standards/methodologies that create an effective and measurable robust software development environment that can produce high-quality software solutions.

The ideal candidate will have a background in software development, a current passion for managing developers, and be a creative and self-motivated problem solver with the ability to handle numerous tasks simultaneously.  In addition, this strong communicator requires a proven ability to persevere, articulate ideas, and motivate team members to drive for results while following accepted development and security standards.


  • Directing Others: Lead the software development team on a daily basis to ensure that tickets and projects are delivered “bug free”, on time, and within budget, and have fun doing it.
  • Implement efficient processes, scalable tools, and resource allocation to achieve a high level of productivity, maintain exemplary application performance, and coordinate timely development response to critical customer issues in our DevOps environment.
  • Managing and Measuring Work: Provide guidance and direction to the development team, be able to address performance issues, and facilitate positive and effective communications throughout the company.
  • Provide immediate and ongoing metrics on development performance and output quality.
  • Plan and execute staff development activities and training.
  • Recruit, hire, train, develop, supervise, and evaluate development staff for Building Effective Teams
  • Maintain contractor/staffing relationships and propose changes as needed.
  • Report weekly to the management team regarding work in progress, timelines, updates, staffing issues, and/or obstacles to on-time releases.
  • Process Management: Encourage, promote, and enforce team best practices (Unit Testing, Code Reviews, Adherence to ticketing procedures, etc.)
  • Collaborate with Professional Services, Support, and Sales teams to reach consensus on ticket and roadmap priorities.
  • Review and write technical design specifications, diagrams, wireframes, and client Statements of Work to address both functional and non-functional requirements.
  • Self-Development: Continually stay abreast of emerging software technologies to evaluate if and how they can be game-changers for the company (e.g., Docker containers, microservices, serverless, machine learning, noSQL, etc.).
  • Direct development efforts to comply with evolving security and privacy standards and regulations (e.g, PCI, GDPR, CCPA, Privacy Shield, at-rest and in-transit encryption, pseudonymization, anonymization, etc.).
  • Forecast and adhere to an annual budget.
  • Other duties as assigned.



  • Minimum of 10 years of software development experience writing applications using .NET and related technologies
  • Minimum of 3 years of hands-on experience successfully implementing an Agile Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) methodology with a development team that designs and delivers high-quality software products and services that make our customers happy
  • Technical Learning: Working knowledge of SQL Server Database queries, data structures, and basic administration
  • .NET Development experience in C# and MS SQL highly preferred, especially with ASP.NET and MVC
  • Experience with ReactJS, Couchbase, Elasticsearch, Docker Containers, and Machine Learning are all plusses
  • Ability to communicate professionally and effectively in writing and verbally as appropriate for the needs of the audience
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office tools (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), Google G-Suite tools, webinar tools, and Internet-based collaboration systems and programs
